Multi-Family Area

Streets throughout the University Endowment Lands (UEL) Multi-Family Area are designated as Multi-Family permit parking zones.

In accordance with the parking requirements of the UEL Land Use, Building and Community Administration Bylaw, only residents of the Multi-Family Area who live in buildings constructed prior to 1970 are eligible for a Multi-Family Area parking permit.

To obtain a permit, residents must own or be the principal operator of a vehicle registered at that address and reside full time at that address. Your valid vehicle registration and proof of residency (for example, your current tenancy agreement) must be brought to the UEL Administration Office to obtain a permit.

Multi-family parking permits are issued on an annual basis and expire on September 30th of each year. Currently, there is no cost for the permit, although the number of permits that can be issued per address is restricted due to the limited amount of surface parking space available. Multi-Family Parking Permits are not valid in any other parking zone within the UEL.

Multi-family parking permits are valid only for insured vehicles. Uninsured vehicles parked on UEL roads, with or without a UEL parking permit, will be towed at the owner's expense. A valid insurance decal must be displayed in accordance with the Motor Vehicle Act.

Vehicles parked in contravention of the UEL parking regulations are subject to towing at the owner's expense, pursuant to the parking requirements of the UEL Land Use, Building and Community Administration Bylaw.

If your vehicle has been towed, please contact the local RCMP detachment or the UEL Administration Office.
